He trained as a studio artist and holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California at Davis, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

A richly embroidered historic peek into the early years of Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine

If you like your historic fiction detailed and accurate, this will be a great read. Beaulieu appears to have spent significant time researching his subject and the turbulent times she grew up in. Some popular historic fiction reads much like a current soap opera, with a few castles and dungeons thrown in. This is not that kind of novel. The Young LIfe is the first in a series of books by this author, going through the colorful and interesting life of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Early European history buffs should read this engaging series, and readers enjoying strong and clever female lead characters will like this book.
