Great combo of history, time-travel and romance

This is the story of Analiese, a 24 year old doctor from Australia, and Adam, a stunt rider at a tourist castle, who are transported back to 16th century England. While Adam's job and familiarity with history make it reasonably easy for him to fit it in, Analiese is very out of place, in a time where woman were not educated and couldn't speak their minds. As they struggle to return to their own century, the threat of the local witch-hunter becomes a very real danger for this strange 'girl from another time'.
The historical aspects of this book seemed very well researched. The setting felt real and I learned a lot. In a way, this realism cut through the romanticism of a time when England was still trying to drag itself out of the dark ages. This would have been a challenging world to live in.
The growing relationship between the two main characters is also a very important part of this book. Their time-travelling experience gives them a very unique romance.
It is difficult to put this book down. Just as you think the story is almost finished the characters have a whole new set of challenges to overcome.
The science fiction fan in me would have liked the hows and whys of their time-travel to be explored in much greater depth, but because of the richness of the historical setting I wasn't too bothered by this perceived shortcoming.
This book uses a traditional theory of time-travel, where evidence of changes in the past can be seen in the present, rather than the more modern theory of creating alternate realities.
Woven through all this is an exploration of faith, and what it really means to be a Christian.
I read 'For All Time' very quickly because I didn't want to stop. This book is a hidden treasure that I'm glad I found.

An Exciting Tale of Chivalry and Romance.

I generally don't read historical romance, but FOR ALL TIME held my interest. I liked the mix of fantasy and real time.
The story revolves around Analiese a young Australian doctor, who is taking a vacation in England with her younger sister Lauren. The pair are enjoying a medieval pageant, when impetuous Lauren takes her sisters precious locket, and gives it to a young man called Adam, who plays the role of the Black Knight.
When the pageant is over, Analiese goes in search of Adam to retrieve her locket, and that's when things take a strange and frightening turn. There's a cave-in and the pair find themselves stuck in the sixteenth century.
The authors research is excellent, and I was quickly convinced this was not a time I would wish to experience!
Analiese has a short modern hair cut, which turns out to be the first of her many problems, as this is the dark ages. Women were supposed to have long hair, be unintelligent and totally subservient to men. This was a struggle for our heroin, as she's a feisty, independent young doctor.
The sixteenth century is the time of witch hunts, superstition and religious darkness, and pretty soon Analiese finds herself the target of the terrifying witch hunter. The authors description of the time is so good, I could feel my blood boiling as I read. It was a particularly bad time to be a woman. Mind you, the way it's going now could be construed as a return to the dark ages in some countries! However, I digress, which is a compliment to the authors writing and research. I confess, I got a little hot under the collar about the way women were treated at that time.
I wanted to give FOR ALL TIME a five star rating, but I found a few things towards the end a little annoying. Nevertheless, the story is well written, enjoyable and exciting!

Pleasantly suprised!

I wasn't sure what I would think at first. I had read only one of Meredith's books before, and had enjoyed it. But I'm not normally one to go in for romantic fiction books, in fact, I confess I haven't really read much fiction at all. I was pleasantly suprised. I hadn't known Meredith personally when I read her first book, but having met the author before reading the novel this time around was really special. I found that once I had started the book, I couldn't put it down. At first I wasn't sure if I would like it, but once I got into the story I was hooked. Having been a church history major in my Bible College course, I knew a fair bit of detail of the Reformation historical period. I found that I was very intrigued about how the author would weave such crucial history into a lovely story such as this. It was done pretty seamlessly, and I really enjoyed that aspect of it (I am a church history nut, and will read Reformation history books for enjoyment ...so don't stone me!). Coupled with the references to Reformation history, and the characters being so likeable, I was drawn into a romantic fiction novel (something that doesn't happen too often). I liked the Sci-Fi element too, it seemed a little out of place at first, but as the story went on it really worked well. The introductory chapters had me wondering what the heck was going on though, that was the only downside. There wasn't a heap of introduction or getting to know the characters, it just kind of jumped into the action. It wasn't until I got a few chapters into it that I really began to get interested (sorry Meredith!). But once I got past that, everything was sweet! Again, loved your reference to church history...that's what really did it for me!
